This jersey had a lot of life, so please bear with the long description. On September 10, 2019, the Oakland Athletics visited the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Marcus Semien, WEARING THIS JERSEY, started at shortstop for the A’s. Tanner Roark was on the mound for Oakland, while Wade Miley went for the Astros. Semien led off the game with a single. He later scored on a Mark Canha single. In the top of the fourth, Semien hit a home run off Joe Biagini, driving in Robbie Grossman who doubled before Semien. In the fifth, Semien doubled off Chris Devinski, driving in Grossman again. The A’s pounded the Astros 21-7 (not a typo). Semien had three hits, seven total bases, three RBI, and two runs scored. Semien wore the jersey again for the next game against the Astros on September 11, 2019. Brett Anderson started for the A’s, while Jose Urquidy went for the Astros. Semien led off the fourth inning with a home run off Urquidy. In the sixth, Semien singled after a Sean Murphy home run. Matt Chapman followed that with a walk. And then Matt Olson drove in both Semien and Chapman with a double. Semien singled again in the top of the seventh but didn’t score. The A’s won 5-3. Jonathan Hernandez went for the Rangers. In the top of the third, Robbie Grossman walked. Semien followed that with a home run. (Semien tied the A’s Home run record at 244 with this home run, according to the game replay!) Semien walked in the fifth, but did not score. The A’s won 6-1. Semien went one for four, with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored. In the end, Semien wore this jersey for four games. He hit four home runs (numbers 27, 28, 29, and 30 for 2019).
